I always love playing a real Wurlitzer!

The organ and I are very grateful!

Uh, really? Southwest Airlines Oakland Promotion

With all the craziness being reported during the "occupy Oakland" protests from Oakland, California, I had to laugh when I received this Ding promotion from Southwest Airlines.

Organ-ic

I've been doing some blues jam sessions with some friends lately and having a blast. The one thing about playing a real instrument as opposed to a sample (organ, piano, Fender Rhoads, Wurlitzer, Clav, etc) is that you play differently - at least I do. There's still nothing like the real thing.

Demo Recording from 1985

The is the first complete demo tape (yea, cassette tape baby!) I recorded with a pop band. This was done in 1985 and we called the band MYX. Richard and Lorenzo Shaw were original band members of Rick James' Stone City Band, and their cousin Donald "Bones" Harris was the other keyboardist and singer. We recorded this on a Teac 3340s 4-track, my Juno 60, Bones' Poly 61, a E-mu Drumulator, Simmons Drums and lots of kids running around the house! Amazing times!

R.I.P. Steve Jobs

I can't think of anyone in my lifetime that has contributed to the changing of our day-to-day lives as much as Mr. Jobs. I make my living composing and recording music, and I'm able to work from the comfort of my own home studio thanks to his vision from many years back - a vision that most homes would one day have and use a personal computer.

Thank you for your creative genius Steve Jobs. Your short time here has made a positive impact on so many lives that it's difficult to fathom.

I met Del Casher yesterday. Hear of the wah-wah pedal? He invented it! Amazing guitarist too.

Humerous Photo - Ad in bin Laden Complex

Look at the 3 sponsored links at the bottom of this photo of Bin Laden's complex - all very appropriate. The 3rd ad is my favorite.
